hose sucking air? Where does it go

Hi, well i just put on a set of chrome valve covers and 2 oil breathers on my 350 tpi , and the one on drivers side is hooked up to the old pvc hoses line, and the passengers side doesnt have a mount for a hose line.
So i blocked off the old hose, but ever since i bought this it has a hose near the pcv valve that sucks air in when my motor is running and it sucks hard, anyways what is it, and should i just plug it up as it still runs fine with it plugged, thanx.

Re: hose sucking air? Where does it go

The "big" vacuum port on the carb should go to a PCV valve in one of the valve covers. The other valve cover should have a breather in it. If they're aftermarket valve covers you'll need a different sized grommet to mount a PCV valve (3/4") than you will to mount a breather (1").

Honestly, a picture would be worth a ton in this case. I'm not at all certain what hose you're referring to that would be giving you this vacuum leak.

Ill try to take a picture tommoro, but i already installed the breathers, and the one on driver side where the old stock pcv valve went has a oil breather with a tip on top for a hose connectin which i hooked up to the old line without the valve part on end, you get what im saying?

I think I understand- I'm guessing you installed a "Mopar-style" breather. If so, that shouldn't be used in replacement of a PCV valve. Typically they are used to allow connection of a vapor line over to a remote "puke can". Definitely shouldn't have the PCV hose connected directly to the nipple on top.

Re: hose sucking air? Where does it go

It either goes to the pcv valve or the break booster if you have no pcv valve on the drivers side . remove your chrome aftermarket breather and use the old gromet from the old valve covers and put it in yours . then install pcv valve.

Re: hose sucking air? Where does it go

So I brought this thread back so i could figure out for sure if its my brake booster cable, or what and what to do with it, and its the hose that is on the passenger very front side of the motor, and its directly beneath another hose, oh and their near the throttle body if that helps,

It doesn't. A picture or two is the only thing that's going to help at this point.
