vortec 305tpi with lt4 hot cam???

i have been thinking about redoing the top end of my motor for some time, my engine does smoke on start up and when it gets to 220 degrees. but not all the time, some days are better than others lol

which would be a 305 tpi with stock bottom end with vortec heads and lt4 hot cam

CAN THIS BE DONE???? what problems will i run into??
i need major help on this

IMHO, you're going to lose too much compression with those heads and an LT4 hot cam is a lotta' cam for a 305. There's nothing wrong with modding a healthy 305. But, if it needs to come out and be rebuilt, there's no good reason not to go 350. Same money, more power. If you're hell bent on a 305, a set of 113 heads is a better choice along with an LT1 cam or equivalent.
