compression test numbers too high?
i took out my headers to replace and decided to change the spark plugs while i was at it did some compression tests and all cylinders were above 200psi with #8 and 2 over 210psi i even tested the gauge against 2 other gauges and they all match perfect, i used 5 strokes in all of them.
The engine was my first built, it has about 15k miles and feels very powerfull but i wasn't expecting readings that high.
Is it normal?

Just keep running good gas in it and enjoy it

Those aren't bad.. Those numbers are pretty even. Low compression numbers are what I would be concerned with

Re: compression test numbers too high?
It is hard to do a good compression test on a Hyd roller cam. The higher valve spring pressures cause the lifters to blead down and give false high numbers and false cylinder to cylinder differences. You probably are seeing inflated numbers.

I dit talk to a friend mechanic/engine buider and he said it was not comun but he've seen that before, what he was surprized is it runs good on 87 octane at 32*
Re: compression test numbers too high?
Sounds about right for an engine with mid-low 10s compression and a smallish cam.
Chances are the aluminum heads are helping you out a little bit with the cheap gas. That will change over time as carbon builds up on the chambers, valves and piston faces. And 32* is already a couple degrees shy of what you want for maximum power with typical non-Vortec heads (somewhere around 36* is usually the sweet spot).
But remember that every engine wants something a bit different. Yours just happens to be OK running like that. It could be a different story on another engine, even if it's built similarly. I suspect you are near the limit, though. Step up any more with spark advance or compression it would probably go over the line.

What are your engine specs? Cam timing, (w/installed postion), engine dimensions, pistons, etc and so forth? (If you care to share).
