Re: what plugs and wires?

Headers?
Everybody is going to have a different opinion, mostly because there's little to no difference in plugs and wires, I run reg platinum Bosch plugs with 8mm Accel wires for a 79 Camaro on my TBI w headers, because they're cheap and they do the job. They'll all have a different opinion on thermostats because it makes very little noticeable difference in operation, unless you live somewhere cold. Colder operating temps are better for power, but you'll never notice it, worse for economy, which you may notice, and possibly better for longevity, though I've never seen a study. Personally I run a 180 because I like to have a bigger buffer between normal operating temp and overheating, 160 is just too cool for a daily driver IMO.

Cheapy delco plugs, no need for anything else. delco wires if stock and taylor wires if modded. Delco cap and rotor.
