AIR Pump lines to Cat.

87 z28 305/4bbl all stock. I replaced the cat with one that has no provision for the smog pump line. Ive since already removed the air pump and plugged the holes in the manifolds with threaded plugs. (Beginning phases of de-cluttering the engine compartment/with plans to get some dress up parts) Btw I have it registered antique and plan on driving it rarely, maybe take it to a show or two.

Ive hacked away all but the main line that goes to the cat (passenger side) and there's one that goes from the passenger side, over the top of the tranny, and on to the drivers side, back of the motor, where it would branch off to each manifold port. These lines are held in their place by bolts I can't see or reach. (obviously didn't anticipate this) Would they be held by the bolts that go though the tranny into the motor? If so which of the six. If i recall these are accessible using all of my extensions and a universal socket joint. Any insight will be appreciated

That pipe is bolted to the heads, and the are tough to get at, you will need to wrench them out. The bolt also secures several ground wires, make sure you put those back on.

Re: AIR Pump lines to Cat.

Ok there's nothing I can do to tighten this nut short of removing the heater box. The driver's side was not an issue but passenger side impossible to reach above, below, wouldn't be able to get a swing on a wrench anyway.

Anyone know the grounds that go to this stud? (I know one is braided copper and comes off the firewall) and there appears to be two others, correct?

Only thing I can think of is cutting these grounds and relocating them somewhere else. Good or bad idea? Assuming they need to be somewhere on the block. Any insight???

I even bought an open ended wrench head that goes onto a 3/8ths socket wrench with no luck. Tried getting it from underneath with a couple 10" extensions, with a universal joint between 2 of them and a universal 14mm on the end, also with no luck. Getting aggravated and need some good insight!!!!

What's inside the black heater box? Even if I take the top half off it I could probably get a wrench in there.

Does anyone know what's inside the black box? If I take the top off Am I gonna uncover a slew of parts or is it hollow?

If you have air conditioning, then the AC evaporator coil will be right there.
