I searched a little with no luck

1987 350 Tpi Firebird T/A

Can i change out the torx head bolts for regular bolts? I am just concerned about where the intake manifold attaches to the heads. I don't really like the torx. i stripped one out real easy then had to drill the head off it and remove it with vice grips.

On another one the head snapped off completely and it wont come out even with vice grips and pb blaster. Tried a crafstman easy out with no luck. Tomarrow i plan to helicoil unless anyone has a better idea.

Allen head cap screws are the best replacements

 

so they have to be allen? I cant use standard bolts fome an older 350?

Check out the clearance @ intake manifold; there is little room to get a socket on a hex head bolt

 

Sorry for the delay. Replaced all bolts with high grade hex bolts no issues. 8 bucks out the door.
