help please

So I got an engine fire on mothers day and it burned a hole in my clutch line. So I need some help understanding what to get. It is the hose between the master and slave, its pretty burned to where it seems plastic but it could be just hydrolic line. And is it able to disconnect from the master and slave or do I have to buy a master or slave with it?

Re: help please

I looked at it a little better today, it does seem to be hydrolic line but it doesnt look really like it disconnects from the master. If you have input id greatly appricate it if not I may have to call my friend at his shop monday to see if he can find out. but id like to do it before hand, I miss driving it haha

Re: help please

The drivetrain boards may have more info than this one. I do know that all of the hyd clutches I've pulled from 3rd gens have a plastic type line that is held to both the master and slave by a small roll pin(s). I know I've seen the master and slave sold separately but I can't remember seeing a line for sale at all. Maybe able to get one cheap through the parts for sale board if you can't find one new. I hope your fire only damaged that, you could have a wiring nightmare.

Re: help please

I also may try to find someone parting out there car with a t5. But lucky for me it didnt really burn any wires other then the ac ones but i removed that so I am just cutting the wires and capping them. It was started from a fuel line becoming loose which is weird cause I have never played with them there and then running off straight headers and downshift and boom haha. But this is the biggest problem and the hood ggot fried but I sanded the hood where it got burned and will be putting race stripes on it to cover it.

??? It should be a plastic line......it should be held in to the slave and master each by a small roll pin......it depends on your definition of easy. If you feel pulling the master from the pedals into the engine compartment (which may include moving the booster and brake master) far enough to get the roll pin out, plus getting under the car to pull the line from the slave, then yeah its easy. Not to mention bleeding the system afterward. That's if your car has the factory type stuff, I guess its possible someone full tilt changed it around though. I've pulled enough of them I don't feel its hard but it is a chore, and for the unskilled it maybe very difficult. I don't know your wrenching abilities so I won't judge.

Re: help please

I'd have to take a fresh look at my own car to give you a 100% assured answer but I highly doubt there's enough room under the brake booster to get the roll pin out of the clutch master while its in place.
