At my wits' end!!

I have a 91 camaro 305 tpi that has trouble starting intermeittenly. It will run fine then sometimes randonly die: the rpms will slowly drop until it stalls. Sometimes I go to start it and it will crank but not catch fire. I can start it up with starter fluid but then it dies, even if i hit the gas.

What Ive switched out:
IAC
TPS
Fuel pump relay
Coolant Temp sensor
O2 sensor
Fuel filter
Spark plugs, wires, and cap and rotor

I checked codes and only got a code 12.

I believe its a fuel delivery issue but is electrically related. Its a very intermittent problem. I suspect it could be a fuel pump but it's hard to tell.

If anyone could give me an idea where to go, that would help me so much!!

Re: At my wits' end!!

Sounds like a similar issue I had AFTER I had my fuel pump replaced.

The shop that replaced my fuel pump had jerry rigged it rather poorly so under hard braking something was coming loose and my pump would shut off.

The starter fluid is gonna get it started initially, but it sounds like you're not getting any fuel delivered to keep the engine running.

Have you turned the key and listened to hear if your fuel pump is kicking on?

I checked the pressure at the schrader valve, it shot gas out. I can hear my pump prime.

I forgot I replaced that OPSU as well. Tested the power and the pump ran fine. I will check injectors later today. How do I check them?

If they test at 12ohm or less either cold or hot, they will need to be replaced

Re: At my wits' end!!

Ok but lets divert from the injector idea. It seems there is something in the computer that is telling it to cut out the fuel pump. Could a bad fuel pressure regualtor cause that?
