What is this going into intake manifold?

What is this going into intake manifold?

This is located between the distributor and throttle body and it has a hollow black wire coming from it that was cut in half trying to figure out what this wire is? cause my car is idling and running like crap all of the sudden please help!!

so with that being cut in half that could be why my car is idling rough and will almost stall at heavy throttle?

Vacuum, just get a new line and you should be fine as long as that's the only problem.

So today i plugged that vacuum line and now i'm getting backfire through the tbi, flames and etc...

check your timing with the est disconnected

EST? and i did have a distributor change recently, the car was running but sounded like crap and now after plugging that vacuum the right way i get flame through throttle body

warm the engine up and turn it off. Disconnect the est and restart the engine . Loosen and adjust the distributor while using a timing light. I believe the L03 is set to tdc . If your emissions tag is still present it will state the timing spec.
