was driving my 85 trans am around town for 1 hour and i was going 55mph headed back to my house and randomly engine stalled and everything was working right .the only thing that was out of the ordinary was my choke light was randomly kicked on(when i was coasting )..so i just put it in neutral and started perfect.luckly i made it home too.

Carb:750cfm qjet rebuilt last summer
motor:305
mallory fuel pressure regulator set to 5.5 psi

i notice it smells gas when i was driving around.i had carb issues last summer so i had it rebuild.i try to tune the carb but i cant seem to get it lean.
any ideas?why did the choke light came on?
