2.8 multiport v6 in my camaro
Hello to all,
here is my problem start to finish.I have a 89 camaro with a 2.8 multiport engine.when i got the car, I went to change the plugs and wires and found that the car was running 180 degrees out.It was wired to run and run decent, but lacked some power so i pulled the dist. and set it back right to chevys specs. But now it wont start and pours gas from the trottlebody. Its like it floods itself out.Does anyone have any input on this? It would be greatly appreciated!

Pull #1 spark plug & feel for compression as you turn the engine over by hand. Turn the engine over by hand till the timing mark on the balancer is at zero on the timing tab, pull the dist. cap & look if the rotor is pointing towards #1. If not then Pull the dist. & reposition to #1, the reset the timing by following the emissions decal.

Did all that. Will act like its trying to start but just turns over as it just pours gas out of the throttlebody.

Is this is the engine in your car? Gas is pouring out of the throttle body? Stop cranking it, disable the ignition now, you need to figure out whats bleeding down. Stuck open injectors, a cts giving cold signals to the ecm (like its -40* outside), a very bad pressure regulator.
