vortec bolt pattern same as 87 and up?
cant seem to find a straight answer. im working on another 87 iroc 305 700r4.
im doing a tpi to carb swap and someone told me you have to use vortec intakes for 87 heads because of the bolt pattern. im going to put on a set of vortec heads in the near future any way so i dont mid buying 1..............

Only have to look and compare the two intakes ; Not even close
Vortec head has only 4 bolts a side , reg SBC heads off all years have 6 bolts
]
And the intake ports are a completely different shape so even if the intake did bolt up , it wouldn't work

If using any non Vortec SBC head you can make the other style intake work by just filing the intake bolt holes out to suit the different angle.
Exactly the same as the aftermarket intakes where one intake fits both style heads ; early and late .
