89 camaro keeps dieing
I have an 89 rs and it keeps dieing on me. Not right away but I'll be driving for a while and come up to a stop and it just dies. I have to throw it into park turn it off then back on. Any ideas on why this is happening? I went to auto zone for their free diagnostics and their plug in doesn't fit my car.

5.0 v8, the check engine light comes on when I drive over 50 but goes off when i turn the car off, it comes on when it dies and it comes on when I turn the key half way.

How long is a while? Iroc is probably right, but it could also be a vacuum leak somewhere. I would say somewhere with the carb, but I'm assuming an '89 isn't carbed.
Mine dies occasionally too, especially when it gets hot, it just doesn't want to idle, and I have to keep my foot on the break and rev it some to keep it going, and my dad believes it's a vacuum leak.
