I've got a project 1987 IROC Z with the 5.7 TPI and AT. It's all original and was sitting for over a year. I replaced the fuel pump and fuel filter and now it starts and runs. It has 3/4 of a tank of old gas in it and I'm thinking this is the problem. I can start it and drive it but after a while it runs like crap and acts as if it's flooded out. It eventually dies and won't restart or it restarts but runs horrible. I've added two cans of SeaFoam and some Premium fuel to the tank in hopes of getting any gummed up injectors cleaned out. I'm wondering if there is sediment plugging the injectors after it runs a bit??? What thoughts do you guys have?

 

Bad Gas Kills Engine - Drain and replace all fluids when you buy any car. Check / change your filter after you have the tank cleaned - (TAKEN OUT AND FLUSHED)

 

I can't find anywhere that will take that much gas.

 

You can take it / tow to a general repair shop and have them clean your tank. they will dispose of the waste.
