92 RS - Just decided to stop starting

I have a 1992 RS, 305, Manual Trans. I've had it since 2004, No big problems.

It has been sitting on and off for a while, not really a daily driver for the last 5 years, but I had been driving it 2-3times a week the week that it stopped working. I drove it to work, had no problems getting there, no problems starting it up, nothing out of the ordinary.

9 Hours after I parked it, I went to go home and I tried to start the car. I made it to the first click to make sure there was power, I pushed the clutch in and tried to get it to start and nothing happened. It didn't even TRY to start. I get the same reaction as if I had not pushed in the clutch and tried to turn the car over.

We have changed the started switch, checked to make sure the clutch is actually being pushed in from the button and we are at a standstill.

Any idea wtf it could be?

Might have to test the 2 leads at the clutch pedal switch, to see if there's 12V power input, and if the ground side will ground out the INcoming power...

I don't have the tool for that. I'll have to try tomorrow once Auto zone opens. Any other ideas?

You ABSOLUTELY have to have a multimeter for diagnostics. Probably $10 on eBay...

Heard of VATS ?
The most common cause of late model 3rd Gens not starting

Read https://www.thirdgen.org/vats_passkey_system
A dirty or worn key , dirty /worn contacts in the Ign switch that read the key or a faulty starter enable relay ( operated by VATS )
will all prevent the starter turning

Then search on here for " bypassing VATS" , a question asked at least twice a week

doesn't mean it actually works and passes power

Simple
Pull the connector off the switch , use a piece of wire to jumper the two terminals together.
The switch condition no longer matters
