Oil Pressure

I have an 82 Camaro, 305 LG4, Manual Transmission. What should the oil pressure gauge read when the engine is at idle and moving down the road. I've looked in the factory service manual but can't find that spec listed.

Re: Oil Pressure

Is just another small block Chevy engine

Typical stated figures for a SBC are 15 psi hot idle , 10 psi for every 1000 rpm ;ie . 40 psi @ 4000 rpm
No less than 10 psi.

Also a possibility your OP gauge is not reading accurate so need to confirm that gauge reading with another gauge before worrying
