Strange noise, driving me crazy
Hello everyone, I am new to this site but have been a third gen owner for 10 years. I try not to take my car to a mechanic when I can try and fix it myself and try to save money. Plus the more I can learn about fixing the car myself the better. I can do all basic maintenance and electrical troubleshooting myself but I have run into an issue that I can not solve. When my car is cold in the morning it sounds great but as soon as it warms up and my rpm gauge is idling at normal (around 625 rpms) in Drive, the car makes a horrible scraping/grinding noise, almost like what bad bearings would sound like. I have checked all my pulleys for wabble, it almost sounds like it is coming from the crankshaft pulley but i am not sure. When i give the car gas the noise continues till i get to about 10-15 mph. So in park, at a dead stop and low speeds is when the noise occurs, and it is intermittent, most the time when i come to a stoplight it will not make the noise. But when i put it in park almost always. The sound is very embarrasing, especially when people are complementing me on my third gen and i start it and just sounds terrible. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. My knowledge is fair but i am still learning and would love to learn more. Thank you!
