Car died and wont start.

I was driving the other day and as i pulled into my parking spot smoke was coming from the hood. The hose on the heater diverter valve broke off and when i touched it to try and stop the leak, anti-freeze shot everywhere. Once that subsided I ordered a new one and just installed it today. Car started right up and all worked well. letting the car run for 5 minutes to check that the connections are not leaking, the car died out of nowhere. No change in rpm's, no smoke no nothing. car just straight up died. I tried restarting it and it would turn over well, but no starting. Fuel pump would prime just fine. I checked all my fuses and all are good. Pulled a spark plug and there was no spark. What is my next step to diagnosing and fixing this problem?

a few years ago the car had starting trouble and I needed to do the VATS bypass. if i remember correctly the car wouldnt turn over at all. Doing some research about VATS, if there is a problem with the system, the car will turn over but not start.

Any help?

Re: Car died and wont start.

VATS does not effect the ignition systems so I think your ok there. Is your coil remote or HEI? When you crank the motor does your tachometer get a reading?
