Good automotive books?
Good automotive books?
Alright, so I am really not sure where to post this so I through it here. I have a basic understanding of how engines function, there different parts, and the purpose of different modifications that can be made and how those modifications bring about the intended result. But I was hoping to find some beginner to intermediate books that would go in depth explaining the process of customizing and modifying engines. I would like the same for transmissions, suspension, and car electronics. I tried searching for good books to meet these goals but I wasn't sure which ones were good because they all claimed that by the end you could go work on a nascar pitcrew as a pro. I was hoping that people on here had some recommendations on books that would serve these goals well. definitely separate books for each if possible. Thanks!
Re: Good automotive books?
Stay clear of ANY magazines articles like Popular Hot Rodding,Hot Rod,etc.Their main purpose is to sell parts for their advertisers and are far from truthfully or real.No complete stories in them.

I used to think highly of the David Vizard series of books, but some got to him with $$$'s and now his big thing is to push low dollar parts builds. You could pick up some of the basic's from them and then ask questions on here.
