New Hypertech Cool Fan Switch turn on way too early.

Installed a 180 thermostat and the hypertech 200 on 185 off cool fan switch. Both fans turn on well before 160 and run constantly. Is the switch faulty, how can I remedy this? Does the temp gauge on my dash take its readings from the cool fan switch or a different sensor?

Quite likely ,
Put it in a pot of hot water and using a thermometer ,check what temp it closes at, need a DVM

Thanks, how bad is it to have the fans pretty much running constantly? In this Arizona heat its keeping the engine about 160 which I know is below regular operating temp. My thermostat is a 180.

Fan motors will burn out early and engine won't get up to operating temp to burn off the condensation so you will get sludge build up in the engine.
Not to mention usually worse fuel economy

Not what I wanted to hear lol. Its really a love hate relationship with this car. I'll pull and test it and if not order a new one from JET instead.

How much you paying for them ?
Consider this one.
http://www.racerpartswholesale.com/p...n_Accessories2

May need a 1/2" to 3/8" NPT reducer if your heads have the old style big hole
Available from any parts or plumbing supply place , maybe even hardware shop

Also call around and have a shop point a infrared laser temp gun at the sender in the head and compare that to your gage. If you don't know where that is just have him point it at the thermostat housing. They will usually just do it for free.
