Normal Exhaust Sound?
I have a 1985 2.8L v6. I have had people tell me there is something wrong with the car by the way the exhaust sounds. I was wondering can anyone on here tell if there is something wrong with the engine by the way the exhaust sounds?

Well how is the car running? Very hard to tell by the audio. Does it have a miss when it is idling?

When idling it sounds like it is running pretty well without any issues. The engine may be vibrating a little more than it should but other than that it feels like it runs well.

Alright then, when was the last time you have had a complete tune up?

Re: Normal Exhaust Sound?
Within the last year or so I have replaced the water pump, fuel filter, air filters, distributor cap, spark plug wires, spark plugs, rotor, pick up coil, ignition coil, ignition control modal, new ford fuel injectors, new ECU.
I melted a valve in the cylinder head and cracked it on the passenger's side. Got a new head and put it on and had the other one machined. If there is an issue I think it is a mis-adjusted valves or the idle screw (I adjusted it). The way the car drives I think it is lacking power but I don't remember how powerful it was before I cracked the head and melted the valve.

Re: Normal Exhaust Sound?
I drove my car up a 5000 ft mountain here in Washington and it was felt like it was lacking power so I took the engine apart and found out that the intake cam lobe for cylinder 1 was perfectly round. That is what was causing the exhast to sound strange and why it was lacking power. Thanks for everyone's input.
