Intake manifold questions

Hey guys, had a pretty bad day ahaha. I have a nice 350 that had a rare intake on it so I took it off(Forgot to drain the block of coolant and dumped about two cups right into the lifter valley) on saturday and sold it to someone is mass. I then bought an edelbrock performer, drained the oil, and dumped several quarts of fresh oil into the lifter valley to remove any excess coolant that was stuck. So heres the question, I was installing the new intake manifold but it didn't fit all that well, some of the bolts didn't really want to go in no matter how I aligned the manifold or screwed with the gaskets. My end result was one bolt hole striped but still has some pressure holding the manifold, one I couldn't get fully screwed down but is tight and a few I couldn't quite get my torque wrench to click on(shitty manifold bolts) But are still tight. So how bad is this? I'm kind of scared I screwed up, maybe someone could put me at ease? Or tell me I'm a retard? Either please help!

Re: Intake manifold questions

Part # or pic of the intake?

Edelbrock makes the Performer series for just about any sbc bolt pattern.

Re: Intake manifold questions

well you either have a standard bolt pattern, 87 and up or vortec. Now you cant have a vortec since nothing will line up! if you are crossed between standard and 87 and up you will only have a problem with the 4 middle holes.
If all the holes are not lined up, your heads were more than likely decked causing this issue and you need to oval the bolt hole in the intake a little.
