91 MAP Harness into 85 MAF car
I searched but really couldn't find an answer. I will be converting my car over to a speed density set up for when I supercharge it. My question is will a MAP harness from a 91 car swap directly over to my 85 car that came as a mass air flow car? I'm not sure if it matches up directly with the harness connector that's on the firewall and or if there are any other modifications that need to be made? Thanks

Mike shows how it is done:
http://www.eecis.udel.edu/~davis/z28/ecm_swap/
Note that he first swaps to an '86-'89 ECM, then on to the '7730 ECM.

Re: 91 MAP Harness into 85 MAF car
Thanks for the link. My car is already converted over to the 86 to 89 maf computer and wiring harness. I don't need to be switching between map and maf as he does, I want to just stick with only the speed density set up from now on after the blower install. That being said, is all the work he does really necessary for me, or is it as simple as removing the maf wiring and ecm set up and replacing it with the speed density harness and ecm? Then all that is left is to change the knock sensor and install the map sensor.

No, the pinouts are different on the bulkhead connector.
You could go to the work of changing that part.
It's not that difficult.

Re: 91 MAP Harness into 85 MAF car
Would I have to get a bulkhead connector from a speed density car or does anybody know the pinouts off hand? Thanks again for the help.

Those pictures should provide what I need. Is it easier to change the pinouts on the engine harness side to match the connector already on my cars firewall, or vice versa?
