Check engine light on, no acceleration after WHY?

I have a 1985 IROC Z. The weather got colder and this problem started. Stop at a light or stop sign the check engine light comes. Pushing on the accelerator pedal there is very little acceleration or none. With the pedal to almost the floor the car will start to move. What is going on?

Start by pulling the code(s) and we can help you out from there.

You don't need any code reader for our cars , type the word "Paperclip" into the search bar at the top of the page and learn how to activate your car's BUILT IN code reader
