pcv valve broke

yeah while i was messin around the engine bay i accidently broke what i assume is a pcv valve that connects to the engine . i also ended up losing some metal pin im guess it was a vacum nipple. my first question is me not having this connected will it be alright to drive the car around, how important is it and 2nd how do i go about replacing this cause i went to a few auto stores and they couldn't find a similar piece should i just go to a junkyard and see if i could swap it out there?

oh and last i changed my air filter and i saw that theres like a secondary one that goes into the orange plastic thing. i tried searching around but couldnt find anything about it anyone know what it called.

Re: pcv valve broke

btw depending on what it controls the color usually indicates the opening temp. For example canada models use a grey tvs for spark control . that one is grey or purple acdelco 212-352.
You may have one for ccp. look at your vacuum diagram or follow the vacuum lines to determine were it goes.

you other pic in the air cleaner housing I'm surprised your auto parts doesn't have atleast a fram BA19DP or CA19 breather element.

Re: pcv valve broke

That looks like the green one, for the canister purge. Probably called something like "canister purge control TVS" or some such. http://www.autozone.com/autozone/par.../N-ik28fZ93xpw This one should work.

The air cleaner part is always available at the stores. It looks about like a piece of Scotchbrite; not very exciting. Might have to just look at things hanging on cards in the filter area. NDB though, it WILL be there.
