Need help finding valve spring seats for my comp 986-16 springs

I was looking for valve spring seats for my comp 986-16 valve springs I have aluminum heads and I asked summits tech and he said I don't have to run any don't most people usually use them?

Shims usually will do the trick, if your pockets are the right size. (1.44" ±)

Bottom line is, depends on what heads you've got, and how they're set up now.

If it ends up you need that kind of thing, you might be able to use 4704 cups, or 4694 locators.

Keep looking. You don't want to run valve springs directly against the bare metal spring pockets of a set of aluminum heads.

Agreed with above, you don't need spring cups per se, but you need SOMETHING for the spring to work against that isn't bare aluminum.
