No spark and no pulse, please help I'm at the end of my rope.
Alright so a little back story, I have a 1989 Camaro with an L98 engine that in august driving home from work died on the freeway. It had been having some sporadic idling and running issues prior to that but nothing ever came of it. The day it went down though it rough, really rough. Like sounding like it suddenly had a massive cam rough, I thought that it just the car getting to hot but after sitting for a week I started it to put it on and off a trailer and it still ran rough and sounded like it had loose top end parts. Before i got into the tear down I tried to show my brother what was going on, and the car ran perfectly fine, but i started a tear down of the top end fearing the worst. The only thing i found to be wrong was a bad injector (6 ohms instead of 16) and a socket in the intake port of cylinder 8 which was quite a shocker. Now the real issue begins, after an inspection of parts and replacement injectors purchased I put everything back together and now for some reason have no spark or injector pulse. So far I have changed the ECM, Ignition Control Module, Ignition coil, and pick up coil even though all but the ICM tested good. The injectors are the same ohms as the OEM injectors and I have checked to make sure all the grounds to the engine and coming out the ECM harnesses are good, I have also found a couple of places were voltage had been lost from the connectors and so it was repaired and nothing changed. Injectors get twelve volts but something seems to be stopping the ground command, I don't know if the two issues are related or if I have multiple problems. So I'm trying to reach out to a community of people who might know something I don't and tell me I missed it. If I'm down to just pulling out the harness and tracing wires to find the broke or chaffed one I'm VERY strongly looking into EFI Connections LS1 PCM conversion so if anyone has some familiarity with that the input would be greatly appreciated. Thanks for your time and advise guys and gals, I hope you have a good day.

I see it's been a while since you posted this; did you find your fix? I'm experiencing similar problems -- no spark, essentially -- and I've been searching for a fix. What I have learned is that a failing pick up coil can demonstrate the symptoms you experienced: rough idle to eventual failure. I'm not sure why you're still not getting spark, although plenty of people talk about new parts being bad right out of the box. Also, there's something about a yellow wired coil -- you can only use a yellow wired coil when the car has a yellow wire, but if the car has another color other than yellow, you can use any coil EXCEPT yellow.
I think if I were you I would get some contact cleaner on any corroded contacts, and re-visit your pickup coil. But I don't have any really strong advice since I haven't found the problem to my car yet.
Good luck!

I haven't fixed it yet and have pretty much decided to try the efi connections conversion, but thanks for your input and if your interested I'll keep you up to date with how that goes once I get it started.
