Header Collector Flange gasket continues to leak; Would it be ok to double up gaskets

Hey all im awaiting my Ebl flash this tuesday and im attempting to tighten down all "loose ends" that i have. One of them is a Pesky exhaust leak at the driver side header's collector flange. I had a really shitty exhaust job done and they did a crappy job welding together to the header so the Flange gasket blows out really fast. Any ways New headers are here and (soon to be) cat back system so im getting rid of my crappy exhaust system, BUT for now i still want to get started tuning with Ebl and i know i need to get rid of this exhaust leak for my O2 sensor. Any ways would it be a bad idea to double up the gasket at the flange so that it seals good? Basically if i put a new gasket in it seals and the exhaust leak goes away for a month or more. Then it becomes its usual very AUDIBLE sound. It sounds like a tractor it sucks. The Passenger side has no problems and it looks like on the driver side it would work perfectly.... But some one let me know!!

If you've got the usual 3-bolt flanges, you could put FIFTY gaskets in there, and they'll still fail.

A better plan would be a set of these. http://www.summitracing.com/parts/flo-15930/overview/ They make em in several different size combos.

yupp my new headers (hookers 2055) take advantage of ball&socket flanges. Im just going to put a new gasket in and it should stay alive until i get the new headers on. This car is a weekend car only now as it used to be my dd

since you are looking for a temporary fix, you could try some red rtv on both sides of a normal cheapo 3 bolt gasket. It wont last forever, but might last you until you swap.
