Installing T fitting on Fuel lines for test valve. how should i release fuel pressure
Hey all im installing this kit onto my TBI motor so i can check fuel pressure seen here...
https://www.thirdgen.org/forums/tbi/...-b-i-fuel.html
my pics are right there on last post.
Any way i was wondering how should i release fuel pressure? the only reason why i ask is because years ago i was having start up problems with the original motor and i opened my feed line shown in that thread on post #14 and when i opened it up, it flooded out quick and almost filled a 32 oz cup. (obviously my problem wasnt fuel at the time lol ended up being ICM) any who any time i work on my throttle body and have to open up the feed&return line behind the FPR it dripples out slowly and barely any fuel. idk why i think its going to come out quick. Any who any ways to release fuel pressure with out pulling the fuse that is located above the rear end (thats the only one i know of)
thanks all!!

Interesting. I didn't know the tbi cars had such an inaccessible remote fuse.

R u just trying to release fuel pressure before cutting in a fitting?
If so disconnect the battery then break a fuel line fitting lose suggestion if you haven't change ur fuel filter that would be a good spot to drain it down and swap the filter while ur at it.

The battery is more of a safety precaution last thing u want is a spark or have the fuel pump turn on while a line is lose.
I normally relieve pressure by just slowly cracking open a fitting like the fuel filter and let it drain if u worried about pressure. Disconnect the fuel pump relay turn the engine over a few time and the injector should cycle and dump most of the pressure

You should have a fuel pump relay under the hood. Honestly I can't remember which one, but on my old '91 RS I believe that I only had two relays under the hood on the drivers side. One for the fan and one for the fuel pump. Disconnect that and crank the car for about 5-10 seconds to purge out the pressure before you crack a line.
