Hope I'm in the right category , but with my luck, likely not ! Anyway new spring problem with the wipers .Turn on fine, low and high fine, no delay and wont shut off . UNTIL you shut the car off , then they shut off and sink down where they should be when you restart the car. ... any tips or suggestions ? Thank you ! Bob

 

My '82 Recaro T/A just started doing this too. If you pull the black plastic cover off the motor there is an electronic circuit board. I have a feeling something failed on it.

 

Mine does this too, I had actually almost forgotten since I don't drive it in the rain, haha. You just need to replace the circuit board, or the entire motor (with circuit attached), whichever is easier.

 

I had a similar issue too. Turn on the wipers and they didn't shut off unless I shut the whole car down and restart it. But- my speeds and delay worked.

I replaced the switch on my steering column and it's fine now.

 

Thanks for the replies guys . Will check on the board 1st .. have to see if its easily removable , may see if I can have a look at the solder joints and resolder.. if not go for the motor, thanks again , Bob

 

If you find out the circuit board is bad, check out rebuilt washer pumps for a delay system. I believe they come with new boards attached. About 50-60 bucks though.

 

Thanks for the help, I will check that out ... like most of you likely , I only get caught in the rain , so Its not a big issue , Unless you have OCD like me and everything has to work just perfect !
