TPI EGR Question

Back to egr, if I blow on the one of the bottom holes (not the part that gets vacuum, the holes on the bottom that go to exhaust and intake) of the egr valve I can push a little bit of air through it while the valve is closed. The valve will not leak vacuum if I put a pump on it. I dont want to assemble everything again with a bad part. Do I have a bad valve?

As for the solenoid, it works perfectly, but only has .24 resistance rather than the 30-90 that most people say is good. Is that okay?

Re: TPI EGR Question

Which one of the bottom holes? The EGR should have a negative backpressure pilot valve. That will allow the exhaust side port to flow to atmosphere by the pressure you are applying unseating the negative backpressure internal valve with its fairly light spring. With a negative backpressure valve, vacuum applied to the control port should cause the valve pintle to move.
