Cruise Control won't maintain speed
Cruise Control won't maintain speed
1992 Camaro RS
Cruise works... sort of.
Lets say you put the cruise on at 70mph. The speed will fluctuate from 70mph-78mph and you can feel the car very aggressively accelerating and engine braking. Like you are being pushed forward, then back, then again accelerating.
Any ideas on how to repair? I don't know if this year car is controlled by computer or not. I just bought it. Still tinkering around with it.

Also, check the linkage on the cruise module itself where it connects to the cable going to the throttle. Is it hooked by a ball-chain or is it a solid connector and screw that holds it on?
Being a 92, I don't think this will be your issue, but some models had a ball-chain that connected the cable to the cruise module. If not tightned properly, would cause the cruise to "hunt" for the right spot because when you "set it", the chain could have slack in it causing some issues.
Other than that, I agree with previous posters about a vacuum leak causing it.
