Re: Whats this plug by my ECM

Between the angle and lighting, the wire colors are not exactly clear. What colors ARE they?

Does the vehicle have a hatch release switch on the instrument panel?

Is there a factory subwoofer amp on the vehicle?

Is there a Driver Information Center (CRT?)

Hatch release is on the console between the windows
No Bose system
No Driver info system

2 wires are Faded pinkish with black stripe and a brown/wht stripe...Can this be the reason my fuel pump isnt priming?

Those colors might be part of the Theft Deterrent (VATS/Passkey) system or VSS buffer.

That is called the c221 connector. It has wires for the injectors and the fan.

I thought the C221 was more populated than that.

Re: Whats this plug by my ECM

Kinda smells like the power antenna connector to me. Check for the same wire colors in the exit point behind the passenger's kick panel.
The power antenna cables go out behind the fender there.
The connector would fit on the front side of the dash, into a relay.
You'd need to remove the plastic panel to see it.

The female part of that plug should be under the dash somewhere on that side. Did you get the fuel pump to turn on and prime yet?

No not like it should, i put power to it directly to verify operation. I sent mt Memcal back to Tuned Performance to verify the program he did for me.
Remember, i put the TPI back on this car so i it has not run yet with it.
Please tell me that the C207 and c221 must be plugged in to run!

Thanks

They shouldn't run without being plugged in. Here is a c207 diagram showing what wires run through it.

Re: Whats this plug by my ECM

Did you find the other half that plugs into that connector? If I remember correctly the two pink/black wires are for the injectors and the brown wire is for the fan.

Pin "A" = Injector Fuse 2
Pin "C" = Fuel Pump/Fan Fuse
Pin "D" = Injector Fuse 1

Re: Whats this plug by my ECM

No i cant see it OR any evidence or cuts where it was... BUT however the current dash in it is cracked by the radio. I have another in the shed and i thought??? HMMMM i wonder.....does that dash have it? so i go out to look and IT DOES! But i want to wire the plug on the car now to see if the car will run.. BUT, will this plug keep the fuel pump from priming and running? If so can i run a quick run to the FUSE PNL INJ fuses right? and see if the pump primes and runs?

I believe it needs to be hooked up for fuel pump operation.

Re: Whats this plug by my ECM/UPDATED pics 8/14

Im back, i haven't touched this since the last post, The connector IS C221, 2 pink/blk and 1 brown or tan with blk.
Here's a new question...... im using an 87 305 tpi harness in an 88 350 tpi that was converted to carb. I'm going back to the TPI. Now i've learned that the 88 has a fuse over by the battery with and orange and red wire. I don't have that anymore... Now is that because its an 87 harness?
Also i have the entire dash from the 87 because the 88 has a crack by the radio bezel but i've looked for the other side of the C221 on the 87 dash and It's there! So should i just go ahead and swap the dash (and heater core) and start all over to see if it will run or at least attempt to run? What about the Fuse that should or was by the battery? Thats weird anyway.. Thanks a million for any good advise

Re: Whats this plug by my ECM/UPDATED pics 8/14

AustinThirdgen.org has all the wiring diagrams you need. Study them to see what you have or don't have. I know it can get frustrating, but with the diagrams, you don't have to wait for someone to answer in the thread. You could even open the 87 and 88 diagrams next to each other and do a comparison to see if there are any differences. GL!
