Just popped two codes 34 and 42

Ok where do I start first to try and find the problem Car popped codes the other night..Car ran fine... and when I went to check codes they were gone. Started the car this morning and codes showed up again... car '89 5.7 iroc

The native search isn't as good as Google's engine for short search terms... At Google, enter "site:thirdgen.org code 34" and this was the second link.

34 = low map voltage.
42 = ESC = Electronic Spark Control
