Oil on plug threads.

Decided to change my plugs because of a miss that has occurred recently.

There is oil on the threads and was curious if this would cause some oil residue on the plug ends? They appear very dirty and crusted. but dry.

There is no blue smoke on start up, even when the vehicle sits for a week.

Also thinking this could be the cause of my code 34.

What do you all think?

Re: Oil on plug threads.

Never mind - replaced plugs and figured it is carbon fouled due to running extremely rich and throwing code 34. Also inspected all vacuum lines and those need attention soon.

However, me and my buddy got her running like a top for now and we traded vehicles. I needed something with four-wheel drive for the next two years and he wanted something fun for once. He got the better end of the deal over all, but I am happy since I always wanted a K5.

Anyways, I plan to lurk around till I get another third gen after I graduate. This next time I plan to go ahead and spring for a low millage showroom condition model.
