Weird fuel problem

My z28 has a holley 650 on it. When i get about 5 gallons low on fuel it starts behaving like its outta gas.

If i stop and put gas in it, it stops sputtering and stalling.

Its not vapor lock.

How do you know it's not vapor lock?
What kind of fuel pump are you running?
With a carb on these cars you have to have a pusher pump, just running the mechanical pump on the engine block will cause vapor lock.

Re: Weird fuel problem

My first thought was vapor lock, so i pulled the gas cap and it still did it. Now i am thinking its a bad fuel line, intermittent pump, or terrible garbage getting stuck in the carb.

Re: Weird fuel problem

It was a clogged fuel filter.

Glad you found it, and that it was something simple.
