My alternator just went! I have a 2.8L V6 in a 1986 Camaro. Does anyone know the correct alternator I need?

Just call autozone, it's nothing special, just a standard part to replace.

any of these:

And please for the love of god, don't pay a shop to put it in. It is only 2 or 3 bolts, and a couple wires to unhook. Loosen the alternator belt, disconnect the battery, unhook the wires, unbolt the part. Installation is the reverse of removal.

Should take you 15 min. A shop will want around a hundred for labor alone.
