The "Code 36" Blues :(
Alright Gentleman, since the lb9-l98 swap I've had nothing but problems with the car, and after a little over 2 months, have finally gotten almost everything worked out, almost. When I finally found and fixed the short to my instrument cluster, I noticed the SES light was on, so I had the codes pulled. The only one that comes up is the infamous code 36: maf burnoff problem. The MAF is a reman from the parts store since I DO NOT have $4-500 for a nice one, and I've had it warrantied twice in the past 3 weeks trying to figure out this code. I've also replaced the maf burnoff relay (not the power relay, just the burnoff) and I'm still throwing that code. The car does idle rough and surge a little on startup, but I think that's IAC, and I haven't gotten to checking that yet. Do any of you have any suggestions on what to check next? It's going to drive me up the wall having this code 36 showing all the time, and I'm not really sure what else to check. I've checked the sensor, relay, and wiring in between and it all *seems* fine.
