Hey everyone, this is my first thread.

I bought a 1989 IROC-Z 5.7L 350. Here is my situation. The car was not started for over 5 years. The engine turns over but will not start. When i spray staring fluid through throttle body it will start but die right away so i know i have a fuel issue.

Things I have done and tested.
- Replaced fuel
- Replaced fuel Pump and filter.
- Replaced Distributor Spark Module
- Replaced Battery
- Tested fuel pressure i have 47 psi at fuel rail.
- Tested spark i have spark at all cylinders
- Tested fuel injectors they are all over 14 ohms except for 2 which i have disconnected.
- Tested Injector Pulse with Noid light seems to flash extremely fast.

I really need help if you can offer any ideas they will be appreciated.

 

Sounds like gummed up injectors. Also, did you flush the old fuel out of all the lines?

Yes i flushed the lines. What im doing as we speak is removing the fuel rail and injectors to blow everytthing out.

If the injectors are in fact gummed up. would that mean they are no good or are they fixable?

 

injectors may be gummed up, however, the car should still fire.
may run like ****, but it should still fire.

check TPS also. skip IAC steps...

if planning to upgrade injectors, choose these. dont bother refurbishing multec injectors

Ok i will check into that once Finish cleaning out the injectors.

 

if there is even a difference in the ohms in any one injector as it gets hot it will go up and throw it all off thus being said it sends a code to the ecm and tells it to shut down thats why it does that
