Hey guys, this i my fist post. I just recently got an 84 camaro with a 350 swapped into it. Some days it runs like a dream. Other days it will be difficult to start, where i have to hold the gas to the floor and crank it over quite a few times. Also sometime if i am trying to hold a constant speed it with surge forward and sort of sputter a little. The other day it got really bad, idling down to 600 rpms, super bad bogging, bouncing back in forth in my seat it was so bad. And today it runs fine. I already replaced the fuel filter. And plugs and wires are good. Help!! Thank you!

 

I had similar issues, it ended up being the pick up coil.

 

Is there a way to test the pickup coil to make sure?

 

Ohm meter, should be between 500 and 1500.

Mine was reading 455, plus once I looked at it further and removed it this is what I found.

 

okay, so this is under the distributor cap? I'm having troube finding a good tutorial.
