Is it worth to swap if engine is being gutted?

I am doing a build on my 87 Iroc with factory 5.7 TPI, I have a running and driving parts car (95 Z28 5.7 LT1/T56), I bought for the transmission. I have been planning a swap with the Lt1, but am second guessing the effort. Before I swap the LT1 it would get a full build, splayed caps, 383 stroker kit, TPIS ported heads and ported intake, 58mm throttle body, cam, MSD6, 36lb injectors, etc. my goal is to get this car into the high 11's. If I did all the same work to my L98 is it worth the hassle of the swap? I know the L98 would need new intake (mini ram), plus AFR heads, the rest of the mods pretty much the same. Would I see better results from the LT1 due to sequential injection, and better programming? Or will the original L98 (now just called a SBC) be able to meet the same goals without the hassle of a swap?

as you know already TPI cars don't lend themselves to being turned into a drag car without a LOT of money being thrown at them. so if you don't mind all that "modding" your 95 power train would be a better choice . mostly for the reasons you stated
