Aftermarket performance radiator is too tall, now what.. (Pics)

Bought it from summit, says it would fit my Iroc-Z. Even removed the thick rubber bumpers on the bottom. Is there anything I can do or should I just use some more metal plumbers strap and secure it to the top lip?

Same issue here.

Have you compared the height of the old and new radiators when installed?

Are you sure the new radiator is sitting properly at the bottom, trying wiggling it?

I ran out to the garage hoping you were right. Oddly enough they are both the same height. Though the stock is much thinner. Tried putting back in and moving it around and still no joy. Maybe it's shaped a bit different. How will you remedy your situation?

Does the top plastic retainer that goes between the radiator and radiator support panel fit, can you fasten it?

I used a thin piece of strong black plastic to extend the top radiator cover so it would fit. You can see it just in front running the full length. It allows the stock cover to hold the top of the radiator firmly ,and I don't think it looks bad.

I tried but it's missing the holes by about a half inch.

I really like that. I see how you fastened the strip to the metal body but how did you attach the strip to the cover? Where did you buy a piece of plastic like that?

I found the plastic at a yard sale many years ago. Look for places like "Tap Plastic" that work with and sell sheets and see if they have any scraps laying around.

I cut the plastic with a jig saw and drilled holes at the mounting point and used some screws and washers from the hardware store. Then drilled where the stock cover would mount to it.

I used the plastic fasteners that come stock on parts like the wheel well linings/etc. and just pushed them in securing the stock cover to the extension.

Should be able to find them at any Auto Parts store.

The parts in the bay are fan controllers and now look like this. The colored tape in the other photo is for marking purposes only =

I've seen after market polished aluminium or chrome radiator top brackets and wonder if they are better at fastening larger after market radiators than the original plastic piece?

Summit did not include a piece of aluminum flat stock so you can extend the width of the factory top bracket?

Cheap bastards !

My BeCool radiator came with that, 15 years ago LOL.
