spark plug removal with headers

ok guys, this 85 350 has Hooker headers that cross directly over most of the spark plugs. Is there a special tool to get these out so I can replace them and ultimately the headers themselves? Thanks.

Re: spark plug removal with headers

5/8" open/boxed wrench
Spark plug socket with the wrenching hex on end, and wrench to fit that hex
Spark plug socket with a one side cut out (kinda like on a O2 sensor socket)

That's the 3 tools I use to change plugs with headers

Re: spark plug removal with headers

I made one by welding a socket to a wrench BUT this seems to work well.

Make sure it has a curved handle.

To add to night rider's list, which already has acoupla my favorites as well:

Box end wrench w about a 1" offset (can be made from a straight one by heating and bending)

I used an obstruction wrench I found in my late father's tool box. Took a bit of grinding as well as heat and bending. Fits right on the plug and I use it from underneath.

I have no idea how he ended up with a broken Craftsman wrench.
