LT4 Hot Cam question
I was wanting to put an lt4 cam in my 355 but on summit it's saying for the gen 1 blocks 1992-98 and my block is a 69-79. Now it's still a 2 piece and has a scat crank. Will if fit/work?

yes it will work if you are going with a roller lifter conversion kit as well. Unless there is something that Im missing.
Also you have to push the timing chain dowel further in. The cam has the longer dowl since it was designed for LT1/4 engines which had cam driven water pumps. Just push it in alittle, just leave enough for the cam gear.

certain manufacturers make similar cams with a option of the long pin or short pin. for example the Lunati 60121 cam im currently building my 383 with is a short pin.

No, won't work, as-is.
Needs the retainer plate behind the cam sprocket, but your block can't accommodate that.
However you can get one of those, grind the "ears" with the bolt holes off, just slide it onto the cam nose before putting the sprocket on, and use a nylon cam button, which is soft enough you can whittle it down to fit among the sprocket bolts.
Then of course you'll need "retrofit" roller lifters.
I'd wizz-wheel the dowel off by about ¼".
