91 305 jumped timing, I need help bad.

Alright, my car was ruining just fine, and just recently I was accelerating and the car died out and started only too bog out. Upon looking the engine over, my distributor was loose(hold down bolt came loose). What do I need to do? My timing mark rests on the 4th tooth to the right on the mark plate. I made sure the distributor was pointing to cylinder 1. I can't get it started, what should I do?

Do you have spark? Are the wires all hooked up coil and distributor? A distributor can only move so far with the ignition wires connected. That means you should be within close proximity to it being able to fire. Disconnect the EST connector. (tan and black tracer wire, single connector on the pass side engine compartment) Have a friend crank the engine while you slowly turn the distributor and see if it pops. If it starts running use a timng light to get the mark around 6 degrees and lock the bolt down snug. Shut it off, reconnect the EST and restart. If that's the only problem it should run just like before.

alright with a spark tester, and doing what you said, i get spark every now and then, i took my dist. cap off, and noticed i can turn the rotor (if thats what it's called) all the way around freely. I did hear a cling sound when it happened, could it be stripped?

I took the cap off and the rotor, a little spring is loose, and a peg is missing, will show pics in the morning.

Rotor shouldn't rotate freely... Does the distributor shaft also move or just the rotor? Does your rotor have a notch like this in the image or is it cracked or otherwise broken? Could be that your solution is just a new rotor
