Ok... Here's the problem
Hello All,
New to the boards to try and get some information before I purchase the car. The car in question is a 1992 RS with the 3.1 v-6 spd from California. The person that now currently owns the car drove the car without issue from California to Wisconsin. Upon arrival to Wisconsin he took the car through an automatic car wash. As the car exited the car wash apparently it died and would not restart. The only other information I have is that when you attempt to start the car all the lights, and gauges cycle like they are supposed to but as you push the key to the start position the lights dim as normal and the car will not crank over or make any other attempt to start. ie no clicks. The owner has stated that the some of the underhood wiring is damaged but he did not state as to where it is damaged and I have not seen the car in person. I am open to any and all theories and suggestions.

How much are they asking for the vehicle? Depending on what you're looking for, personally I'd save for a v8. A ton more power, and saves from any needs to swap to a v8 and all that mess. But anyhow,
Depending on the shape of the vehicles electrical system, I'd be hesitant. Sounds like there was a bare wire somewhere in the engine bay that got wet and shorted something out. Possible fried relay or fuse or both.

Price is right where I am looking to buy. there is another buyer going to be looking at the car later today will have to wait and see I guess. and how positive are you on the starter relay issue.

Not trying to discourage you from buying it. I would if it all looks good. But with thirdgens and almost any old used car, you'll need to put more money into it. No matter how well maintained, seals dry out, things rattle. Good luck!

Thanks for all the input and opinions on that car, but I decided to go with another option and found a 1989 RS 305TBI got it for a steal and yes it still needs work but at least I can drive it while I am doing the work.
