Ok pump pickup to pan clearance?

I calculated my oil pump pickup to pan bottom clearance and I come up with something around .458". Am I ok with this clearance? I put a straight edge across the pan flange and measured to the bottom and I get 8.313". The block to pickup bottom depth is 8", maybe 8.063. Gasket is a one piece rubber gasket .177 thick. I'm not sure what oil pan I have cuz it came off another motor I bought but I'm guessing it's aftermarket. The pump is a Milodon high pressure high volume pump and the pick up is a Moroso deep sump for 8.25 pans.

3/8" ( .375") to 1/2" (.500") is the target range with 7/16" (.4375") being about perfect.

So your .458" is great
