91 camaro 350 tpi weird stalling.
A couple weeks ago, I bought a 1991 camaro with a 350 tpi, it was running on 7 cylinders when i bought it and has probably been running on 7 for a while. I immediately checked compression and spark, and have both, so i figured it was the injector, so i changed that and the car rums on all 8. But when i put it in drive, the Car hesitates and shuts off like somebody turned the ignition off. The car works awesome in park, neutral, and reverse, but dies in drive. Also i unhooked the tv cable from the TB and all of a sudden it works in drive with no hesitation. In all honesty, I'm pretty baffled by this. Looking for some ideas people may have on the cause

Sounds like the IAC (Idle Air Control) is not working correctly.
Remove and clean it / replace it and also the passages where the air flows.
The engine load increases when the TV cable is pulled by raising the transmission pressure. The IAC opens to keep the idle speed correct.
If it does not open, the engine can stall from the added load.

Also, I tend to adjust the throttle blades open to where I have 0-10 IAC steps in park. Seems to give better idle characteristics when the amount of air going through the IAC is minimized.

Woody, welcome to TGO, lots of good folks and information here. I'm going to move your thread to the general tech board here. It fits better with the issue you are having.
Be careful with the TV cable disconnected. If the TV check-ball is still in place driving the car will produce high hard shifts. If the check-ball has been removed (common in rebuilds), the transmission will burn up in a mile or so.
One difference between reverse and drive is the boost valve and resultant line pressure in the transmission. The pressure is higher in reverse then in drive. For some reason this lends be to think that the TCC solenoid is hanging up.
Which is causing the stall when placed into drive. Did the car jerk forward more in drive then when placed into reverse? If so that to points to the TCC solenoid.
RBob.
