2.5L help after 11 years
so we have rebuilt this 2.5L engine in 1984 Z28 Camaro and put a a new fuel pump in, but when starting the car it would run great until it would get hot then it would shut down. we originally thought that it was the fuel pump getting hot and disengaging but later found out this was not the problem. The car was getting too much gas sometimes or barley any gas other times so we replaced the IAC Motor and adjusted it (that also fixed a high idle problem) after replacing the IAC Motor the car ran great till it got hot so fresh out of ideas we called a local Chevy garage they said it sounded like it was either the Coolant Temperature Sensor or the EGR. So we replaced the coolant temperature sensor and we really didnt notice a difference. so i guess what im asking is what do you guys think it is or do you think it really could be the EGR.
Also: The alternator is starting to go so thats not helping the problem
