Lifter question

I just bought a comp xfi 280 cam and was wondering if the Chevy performance roller lifters for 305/350 Ls1,Ls2 and Ls7 will work for the cam I have.

Re: Lifter question

I believe so - if its an hyd roller cam. I think whenever u buy GM roller lifters now u get the LS7 roller lifter. I thought they had a different preload requirement but now find they dont. Thought i had read an instruction for the LS7 lifter saying that but cant locate it now. I did read the lifter cup & plunger/piston travel was increased but u can google that for yourself.

Aftermarket hyd rollers with the Link-Bar are expected to be used in higher rpm engines. Also the stock hyd roller lifters have a smaller roller thats somewhat shrouded - i think the larger the roller the faster the lifter accelerates up the lobe ramp for a little more flow area.

Hope this helps more than it confuses.

Re: Lifter question

What is the cam part #? If it is a hyd. roller cam to be installed in a factory 1987 and up roller cam engine block, then yes the GM performance stock roller lifters will work.

If it is a retro fit roller cam to be used in a 1955-86 block, then now those lifters will not work
